Mickey grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and was inspired and trained by local artist, John Gustafson. She continued her art studies at Central Michigan University. 

Mickey now makes Colorado her home. She has been honored to have trained with many prestigious artists including her most influential teacher, Janet Nunn.

Mickey was a featured artist in the Westword web edition and the Wheat Ridge Neighborhood Gazette. She is honored to have receive awards in juried shows throughout Colorado. She is former President of the Arvada Fine Art Guild and  former director the the Arvada Art Studio Tour. Mickey has participated in numerous art fairs in Colorado, New Mexico and Michigan and is often featured in businesses around the Denver Metro Area. 

Mickeys unique style playfully employs the use of vivid colors and stark contrasts to accentuate subjects with incredible warmth and depth. Because her personality prevents her from adhering to one subject, medium or style, she has earned the reputation of having something that appeals to everyone. Her work includes painting, mixed media collages and jewelry.

Mickey specializes in pet portraits in watercolor.
